What we aim to provide here is an introduction to the ethics of dual relationships by focusing on the risks and opportunities that arise within these complex relationships; furthermore, hoping to offer guidelines on how to determine the potential for harm in non-professional relationships with a client. We will discuss factors that increase the likelihood of dual relationships that are not as obvious as the clear and immediate conflict of interest.
